Dowager Restoration

Transporting:

Nick carefully positions his hydraulic trailer under the DOWAGER.

Securely loaded into the transport trailer, the DOWAGER leaves the shop space that she has occupied since October of 1998.

Maneuvering space is tight as Nick eases

the rig around a support post.

A magnificent sight: structurally and cosmetically superior to the boat that

rolled out of the Matthews Boat Company

over 71 years ago.

Using his unique custom made system, Nick gently moves the trailer into place.

To make room one of the main roof supports had to be removed. Here a temporary support post is being "adjusted" while the fork lift in the background adds a little more security to the operation.

Finally clear, the fork lift moves back as the DOWAGER moves out.

backs down the street to the travel lift.
